ocean in a Polynesian canoe.
Nahoa competes against 26 other outrigger teams from California,
Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona at locations between Avila Beach
and Chula Vista, including an optional event to Hawaii.
Come try our sport and get hooked on being
outdoors, meeting new friends and enjoying a motivating new
way to exercise!
No experience
is necessary.
Make sure you wear clothing that
can get wet:
• Board Shorts
• Neoprene Shorts
• Capilene (polyester) Tops
• Windbreakers
• Rashgards
Helpful items:
• A towel and a set of dry clothes
• Bottled water with a strap like holder
• Sunscreen
• Paddles and lifejackets are supplied by the club.
• Everyone must sign a SCORA
(Southern California Outrigger Racing Association) release
form.
• All paddlers must have basic swimming skills. Must
feel comfortable treading water.
